The galley and Crew’s Mess aboard the USS Arizona has been named the Cantina Yuma by the crew and officially christened after return from her shakedown cruise. The Cantina Yuma gets its name from the latin influence on the cuisine of the southwestern United States and the Yuma section of the Sonoran Desert as well as the city in the State of Arizona.

Foodservice aboard the USS Arizona is cafeteria style in the Crew’s Mess, with occasional service via steward to the Chief’s Mess and daily steward service to the Officer’s Mess. The menu for the Cantina is on a weekly rotation based on a monthly calendar. You can see what is being served aboard the boat below and a suggested video to learn more about food service and supply aboard a nuclear-powered submarine.
